Bagaha: An Assistant, Indira Awas Unit, of Bhuyeedharwa panchayat under Bhitaha block of Bagaha Sub- Division in West champaran Manoj Pal was arrested on July 13, 2018, on corruption charges.
SDM, Bagaha, Ghanshyam Meena, said here that Pal had extorted Rs 42,000 as bribe from six beneficiaries ( Rs 7,000 each) for allotting the Indira Awas unit. It was the second incident in which an Indira Awas assistant was arrested for allegedly taking bribe from beneficiaries for allotting Indira Awas unit.
Rajkumar Ram, an Assistant, Indira Awas Unit of Mahipur-Bhataura panchayat under Bagaha-1 block of the Sub -Division, was arrested on July 7, 2018, for taking Rs 2,000 from each beneficiary for issuing money for second allotment of the Awas unit, the SDM said.
