Patna : India were all out for 336 on Day 4 in their first innings in 4th against Australia at The Gabba, Brisbane, Australia, as Shardul Thakur and debutant off spinner Washington Sunday added 123 runs for the 7th wicket in a rearguard action displaying tremendous grit and determination. It was resolute batting by Thakur and Sunday as India had lost their 6th wicket at 186 runs. Australia, who had scored 369 in their first innings, lead by 33 runs. Both Thakur and Sunday scored sixty plus runs. They had also taken 3 wickets each in Australia’s first innings.

Resuming at their overnight score of 62/2, India lost their 3rd wicket that of Cheteshwar Pujara at 105. Pujara fell to Josh Hazlewood for 25 in 94 runs with 2 fours. Captain Ajinkya Rahane fell to Mitchell Starc for 37 in 93 balls with 3 fours. Pujara and Rahane 45 runs for the third wicket. Mayank Agarwal fell to Hazlewood for 38 in 75 baalls with 3 fours and 1 six and it was 161/5. Rishabh Pant (wk) fell to Hazlewood for 23 in 29 balls with 2 fours and it was 186/6.

But, Shardul Thakur and  Sundar steadied the ship. Thakur fell to Pat Cummins for 67 in 115 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes and it was 309/7. Navdeep Saini fell to Hazlewood for 5 and it was 320/8.  Sundar fell to Mitchell Starc for 62 in 144 balls with 7 fours and 1 six. Thakur and Sundar played the 2nd new ball so well. Mohd Siraj fell to Hazlewood for 13 and India were all out for 336.

Australia were 14/0 in their 2nd innings after 3.4 overs.
