Patna : Captain Ro-Hit Sharma hit an unbeaten 111 in 61 balls with 8 fours and 7 sixes, his 4th T20I century, as India scored 195 for/2 in 20 overs in the 2nd T20I against West Indies (WI) at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, UP, on November 6, 2018, night. West Indies had won the toss but opted to bowl. Incidentally, Rohit started playing out a maiden over and then exploded to hit an unbeaten ton. India had scored just 11 runs in the first three overs. Lokesh Rahul remained not out on 26 with 2 fours and a six. He added 62 runs with Rohit for the third wicket.

Openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan added 123 runs for the first wicket in 14 overs. For Rohit, it was his 6th century partnership in T20I, three each with Virat Kohli and Dhawan. Rohit Sharma has now scored 2,203 runs in T20Is.Martin Guptil, New Zealand, has scored 2,271 runs in T20Is. Virat Kohli has scored 2,102 runs in T20Is.

Rohit was 0n 92 when the 20th began. Lokesh Rahul took one run on the first ball of the 20th overs. Thereafter Ro-hit was all over WI captain Carlos Brathwaite hitting for three consecutive fours and a six in that over. Rohit is first player to hit 4 centuries in T20I, his second as captain, the first captain to achieve the feat. He now boasts of maximum T20I tons in the world. Shikhar Dhawan said Rohit played a superb innings.

Chasing a target of 196 runs, WI were 14/1 after 3.2 overs.
