New Delhi : India reported 3,33,533 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 3,37,704 cases a day before, taking the tally of cases recorded in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic to 3,92,37,264.
On the other hand, a total of 2,59,168 Covid-19 patients recovered in last 24 hours, up from 2,42676 recoveries on January 22, 2022, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic to 3,65,60,650 in India on January 23, 2022. India’s recovery rate (RR) was 93.18% on January 23.
India’s Active Caseload was 21,87,205 on January 23, 2022, an increase of 73,840 cases in last 24 hours. Active cases constituted 5.57% of the country’s total Positive Cases on the day, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The country reported 525 new Deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,89,409 in the country on January 23, 2022. The case fatality rate was 1.25% in the country on January 23.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 18,75,533 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 71.55 Crore (71,55,20,580) sample tests.
The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently was 16.87% on January 23, 2022, while the Daily Positivity rate was 17.78% on the day.
Meanwhile, with the administration of more than 71 lakh (71,10,445) vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 161.92 Crore (1,61,92,84,270) as per provisional reports till 7 am on January 23, 2022.oday.
