New Delhi : India reported only 19,968 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 22,270 cases on February 19, 2022, taking the tally of cases recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic to 4,28,22,473 at 8am on February 20, 2022. India, however, reported 673 new deaths in last 24 hours, a huge jump from 325 deaths reported on February 19, taking the toll to 5,11,903 on February 20, 2022.
A total of 48,847 Covid-19 patients, on the other hand, recovered in last 24 hours, down from 60,298 on February 19, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,20,86,383 on February 20, 2022. India’s recovery rate (RR) improved to 98.28% on February 20 from 98.21% on February 19, 2022, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
India’s Active Caseload was 2,24,187 on February 20, 2022, a decline of 29,552 in last 24 hours. Active cases constituted 0.52% of the country’s total Positive Cases on February 20.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 11,87,766 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 75.93 Crore (75,93,15,246) sample tests. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country was 2.27% on February 20 while the Daily Positivity rate was 1.68%.
Meanwhile, with the administration of more than 30.81 lakh (30,81,336) vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 175.37 Crore (1,75,37,22,697) as per provisional reports till 7 am on February 20, 2022.
