Patna : India scored a huge 352/5 in 50 overs against five-time champion Australia in the 14th match of ICC World Cup at Kennington Oval, London, with opener Shikhar Dhawan scoring a superb 117 in 109 balls hitting 16 fours, his 17th ODI century,  his opening partner  Rohit Sharma 57 in 70 balls with 3 fours and a six, and captain Virat Kohli 82 in 77 balls hitting 4 four and 2 sixes rendering the Aussie fast bowlers ineffective.

Rohit and Dhawan provided a solid platform to India with their 127 run opening stand. After Rohit’s departure at 127, captain Kohli and Dhawan carried that momentum forward with a 93 runs 2nd wicket stand. All-rounder Hardik Pandya, who arrived after Dhawan fell to fast bowler Mitchell Starc at 220, scored 48 runs in only 27 balls hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes adding 81 runs with Kohli for the 3rd wicket. Pandya fell to fast bowler pat Cummins making it at 301/3. M S Dhoni ( wk) scored 27 in 14 balls with 3 fours and a six adding 38 runs with Kohli for the 4th wicket. Dhoni fell to Marcus Stoinis and it was 338/4. Kohli fell to Marcus Stoinis making it 348/5. Lokesh Rahul remained unbeaten on 11 in 3 balls with a four and a six.

For Australia, Pat Cummins took 1/55 in 10 overs while Mitchell Starc took 1/74 in 10 overs. Stoinis took 2/62 in 7 overs while Nathan Coulter Nile took 1/63 I n 10 overs. Nathan took the wicket of Rohit Sharma.
