Patna : India declared their first innings at 610/6 on the third day on Novemver 26, 2017, in the second test against Sri Lanka at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur, with Rohit Sharma becoming the fourth Indian batman to score century in the innings. Rohit remained unbeaten on 102 while W Saha was 1 not out. India were 405 runs ahead of Sri Lanka on first innings. Sri Lanka were 8/1 in their second innings with fast bowler Ishant Sharma taking the wicket of Samarawickrama.

Rohit and Captain Virat Kohli were involved in 173 run partnership. Kohli scored 213 while Cheshwar Pujara made 143 and opener Murli Vijay 128. It was the third time that four Indian batsman had scored centuries in a test innings. Sri Lamka had made 205 in their first innings.
