Patna : India entered the semi-finals (SF) of ICC Under-19 World Cup tournament on January 26, 2018, thrashing Bangladesh by 131 runs at Queenstown Events Centre, Oueenstown, New Zealand, in the quarterfinals.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, India were all out for 265 in 49.2 ovrs with Subham Gill scoring 86 in 94 balls hitting 9 fours and all rounder Abhishekh Sharma making 50 in 49 balls hitting 6 fours. Captain and opener Prithvi Shaw made 40 in 54 balls hitting 5 fours while wicketkeeper Harvik Desai scored 34 in 48 balls hitting 1 four. Riyan Parag made 15 in 22 balls hitting a six, the only six of the Indian innings.
For Bangladesh, Qazi Onik took 3/48 while captain Saif Hasan took 2/41 and Nayeem Hasan 2/36. Hasan Mahmood and Robiul Haq took one wicket each. Anukul Sudhakar Roy was run out for two.
Chasing a victory target of 266, Bangladesh were all out for 134 in 42.1 overs with opener Pika Ghosh making 43 in 75 balls hitting 3 fours and Afif Hossain scoring 18 in 40 balls hitting 2 fours. Captain Saif Hassan made 12 hitting 2 fours. Opener Mohammad Naim also made 12. Robiul Haq remained unbeaten on 15 in 9 balls hitting 2 sixes.
For India, Kamlesh Nagarkoti took 3/18, Shivam Mavi 2/27 and Abhishekh Sharma 2/11. Anukul Sudhakar Roy took 1/14. Two Bangladesh batsmen : Towhid Hridoy and Aminul Islam were run out.
Shubham Gill was declayed Player of the Match. India will play Pakistan in the semi-fnals on January 30, 2018.
