Patna : India beat West Indies by 10 wickets in the second test at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, wrapping up the two-test series 2-0 on October 14, 2018. Opener Prithvi Shaw was declared Man of the Series (MoS) in his debut series while fast bowler Umesh Yadav was declared Man of the Match in the second test for taking 10 wickets.

Captain Virat Kohli said that we did not expect to win the match in three days till the third morning. He described Umesh Yadav as standout performer. Coach Ravi Shashtri also praised Umesh.

West Indies, who had scored 311 in their first innings, were 127 all out in their second innings. India, who were scored 367 in their first innings takings a 56 run lead, scored 75/0 in their second innings to win the match by 10 wickets inside three days. Both Prithvi Shaw and Lokesh Rahul remained unbeaten on 33 each. West Indies bastman Roston Chase was the only batsman from either side to score a century in the second test.
