India beat Sri Lanka by an innings and 53 runs in Colombo Test

Patna : India on August 6, 2017, beat Sri Lanka by an innings and 53 runs in the second cricket test at Colombo on the fourth day. Sri Lanka were all out for 386 runs in their second innings having scored 183 runs in their first innings. India had scored 622 runs in their only innings in the test match. India now lead the three test match series 2/0.

Sri Lanka, however, performed very well in their second innings with D Karunaratne scoring 141 and Kushal Mendis 110 while Angello Mathew scored 36 runs. For India Ravindra Jadeja took 5/ 154 in Sri Lanka’s second innings having taken two wickets in their first innings. Ravichandra Ashwin also took seven wickets in the test.
