Patna : India beat England by 8 wickets in the first ODI at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, UK, on late July 12, 2018, with Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav taking 6/25 in 10 overs and opener Rohit Sharma scoring an unbeaten 137, his 18th ODI ton, while Captain Virat Kohli made 75 in 82 ball with 7 fours. India has taken 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

Ro-hit hit 15 fours and 4 sixes in his unbeaten 137 in 114 ball. He and Kohli were involved in a 167 run partnership for the second wicket. Open Shikhar Dhawan scored 40 in 27 ball with 8 fours. Rohit had also scored century in the 3rd T20I against England recently on this tour.

India won the toss but opted to bowl. England were all out for 268 in 49.5 overs riding on 51 ball 53 with 5 fours by wicketkeeper Jos Buttler and 103 ball 50 with 2 fours by allrounder Ben Stokes. England openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow made 38 each. They were involved in a 73 run partnership for the first wicket giving a solid start to England. Roy hit 6 fours while Bairstow hit 5 fours and a six.

England Captain Eoin Morgan made 19 in 20 ball hitting 2 fours and a six while Moeen Ali made 24 in 23 ball hitting 2 fours and a six. Spinner Adil Rashid made 22 in 16 ball hitting a four and a six.
