Patna : India beat Bangladesh by 17 runs in the Nidahas Trophy tri-series T20I at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka, on March 14, 2018. Set a target of 177 runs to win the match, Bangladesh could score only 159/6 in 20 overs despite a brilliant batting display by wicketkeepr Mushfiqur Rahim who remained unbeaten on 72 in 55 balls with 8 fours and a six. India thus defeated Bangladesh for the second time in the Nidahas Trophy. Opener Tamim Iqbal and Shabbir Rahmad made 27 each.

Indian spinner Washington Sunder continued his excellent bowling in the series taking 3/22 in 4 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal also bowled well taking 1/21 in 4 overs. Shadul Thakur and Mohammad Siraj took one wicket each. But, Siraj gave away 50 runs in his 4 overs.

Earlier asked to bat first by Bangaladesh who won the toos, India scored 176/3 in 20 overs riding on an explosive 89 in 61 balls by Captain Rohit Sharma who hit 5 sixes and 5 fours. Raina made 47 in 30 balls hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes. Shikhar Dhawan made 35 in 27 balls hitting 5 fours and a six.
