Patna : India defeated Australia by 36 runs in the 14th match of ICC World Cup at Kennington Oval, London, on June 9, 2019, late night, with Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvaneshwar Prasad taking three wickets each and Yuzvendra Chahal taking two wickets. Replying to India’s 352/5 in 50 overs, Australia were all out for 316 in 50 overs.

Alex Carey remained unbeaten on 55 in 35 balls with 5 fours and a six. Steven Smith scored 69 while opener David Warner scored 56. Captain Aaron Finch scored 36 while Usman Khawaja scored 42. All-rounder Glen Maxwell scored 28.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, India had scored 352/5 with openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan scoring 57 and 117 respectively. Dhawan was declared Player of the Match. Captain Virat Kohli scored 82.
