Patna : India beat Australia by 6 wickets in the 3rd T20I at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, Australia, with captain Virat Kohli hitting an unbeaten 61 in 41 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes and openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma scoring 41 and 23 runs respectively. Set a target of 165, India scored 168/4 in 19.4 overs to level the three-match T20I series 1-1. Dinesh Karthik scored an unbeaten 22 in 18 balls with a four and a six and added 60 runs in 39 balls with Kohli for the 5th wicket. Dhawan and Rohit added 67 runs in 33 balls for the first wicket.

Dhawan scored 41 runs in 22 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes while Rohit scored 23 in 16 balls with a four and 2 sixes. Lokesh Rahul fell to GlenĀ  Maxwell for 14 with a six while wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant fell to Andrew Tye for a duck.

For Australia, Mitchell Starc, Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa, and Glen Maxwell took one wicket each. Starc bowled at a brutal pace touching even 149 kmph.

Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, Australia had scored 164/4 in 20 overs with opener D Arcy Short and Aaron Finch, the captain, scoring 33 and 28 runs respectively adding 68 runs for the first wicket. Wicketkeeper Alex Carey scored 27 in 19 balls with 4 fours while Marcus Stoinis remained unbeaten on 25 in 15 balls with 3 fours. Nathan Coulter-Nile remained unbeaten on 13 in 7 balls with 2 fours. Chris Lynn was run out for 13. Glen Maxwell was also out for 13 while Ben McDormott was out for a duck..

For India, spinner Krunal Pandya took 4/36 in 4 overs while Kuldeep Yadav took 1/19 in 4 overs. Krunal Pandya was declared Player of the Match. Shukhar Dhawan was declared Player of the Series.
