Patna : India were all out for 273 in 84.5 overs in their first innings on the second day of 4th test cricket test against England at The Rose Bowl, Southampton, UK, on August 31, 2018, night, riding on an unbeaten workmanlike 132 in 257 ball with 16 fours by Cheteswar Pujara, 30, his 15th test century. Captain Virat Kohli was out for 46 with 6 fours. India lead by 27 runs. England were all out for 246 in their first innings on day 1.

Pujara and Kohli were involved in 92 run partnership for the third wicket. Pujara was also involved in a 32 run partnership with fast bowler Ishant Sharma for the 9th wicket. Sharma scored 14 runs. Pujara was also involved in a 46 run partnership with pacer Jasprit Bumrah for the 10th wicket. Bumrah made 6.

Earlier, openers Shikhar Dhawan and Lokesh Rahul scored 23 and 19 runs respectively while Ajinkya Rahane was out for 11. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was out for a duck while allrounder Hardik Pandya made 4. Ravichandra Ashwin was out for 1. India were 161/4 but were all out for 273 due to the lower middle order collapse.

For England, spinner Moeen Ali took 5/63 while fast bowler Stuart Broad took 3/63. Sam Curran and Ben Stokes also took one wicket each.
