Patna : Chasing a target of 147, India were 34/2 after 6 overs in the 3rd T20I against West Indies (WI) at Providence Stadium, Guayana, on August 6, 2019, late night. Opener Shikhar Dhawan fell to fast bowler Oshane Thomas for 3 while his opening partner Lokesh Rahul fell to spinner Fabian Allen for 20 hitting 2 fours and a six. Captain Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant (wk) are batting on 6 and 4 runs respectively.

Earlier batting first, WI had scored 146/6 in 20 overs with Kieron Pollard scoring 58 in 45 balls hitting 1 four and 6 sixes while Rovman Powell remained unbeaten on 32 in 20 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. Pollard hit spinners Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar, 20,who made his debut with this match,  for two sixes each.  He also hit Washington Sundar and Navdeep Saini for a six each.WI hit 16 runs in the 20th over.

India won the toss but opted to bowl.  India rested vice-captain Rohit Sharma. K Khaleel Ahmad,  and Ravindra Jadeja for the match. Rohit was replaced by Lokesh Rahul.

WI made a disastrous start and lost their first three wickets with only 14 runs on board. All these three wickets were taken by medium fast bowler Deepak Chahar. Deepak Chahar took 3/4 in 3 overs. Deepak took the wickets of openers Evin Lewis and Sunil Narine and Shimron Hetmyer. Fast bowler Navdeep Saini took 2/34 in 4 overs. Spinner Rahul Chahar, cousin of Deepak Chahar, took 1/27 in 3 overs.
