Patna : India were 264/5 in their first innings at stumps on Day 1 of 2nd test against the West Indies (WI) at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica, on August 30, 2019, late night, with Hanuma Vihari unbeaten on 42 in 80 balls hitting 8 fours and Rishabh Pant (wk) batting on 27 in 64 balls with 2 fours and a six. Fast bowler Jason Holder (captain) took 3/39 in 20 overs.

India lost their first two wickets that of opener Lokesh Rahul (13) and Cheteswar Pujara (6) with only 46 runs on board. But, opener Mayank Agarwal ( 55) and captain Virat Kohli (76) added 69 runs for the 3rd wicket. Mayank fell to Holder making it 115/3. Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane, who had scored his 10th test century in 2nd innings of 1st test, added 49 runs for the 4th wicket. Rahane fell to fast bowler Kemar Roach for 24 in 55 balls with 4 fours making it 164/4. Kohli fell to Holder for 76 in 163 balls with 10 fours and it was 202/5. Vihari and Pant have so far added 62 runs for the 6th wicket.
