Patna : India were 192/7 after 76 overs in their first innings in the first test against Australia at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, Australia, in the third session of the play on day 1 with Cheteshwar Pujara batting on 75 balls with 5 fours and Ishant Sharma yet to open his account. Electing to bat after winning the toss, India made a disastrous start losing their first three wickets including that of captain Virat Kohli for just 19 runs.
Openers Lokesh Rahul and Murli Vijay scored just 2 and 11 runs respectively while Kohli was out for just 3 runs. Ajinkya Rahane scored 13 with a six while Rohit Sharma made 37. Rohit hit 3 sixes and 2 fours in his 61 balls knock. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant scored 25 in 38 balls with 2 fours and a six. Ravichandran Ashwin scored 25 with 1 four. He added 62 runs for the 7th wicket with Pujara. It is Pujara’s 20th test fifty.
