Patna : Australia were all out for 243 in their second innings in the second session of the play on day 4 in the second test against India at Perth Stadium, Perth, Australia, on December 17, 2018, with Usman Khwaja scoring 72 and captain & wicketkeeper Tim Paine 37. Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc added 36 priceless runs for the 10th wicket. Chasing a target of 287, India were 15/2 with opener Lokesh Rahul getting out to Mitchell Starc for zero continuing his poor form while Cheteshwar Pujara fell to Josh Hazlewood for 4. Murli Vijay is batting on 6 while captain Virat Kohli is yet to score.

Resuming at their overnight score of 132/4, Australia lost the wicket of captain Tim Paine when the score was 192. The sixth wicket that of opener Aaron Finch also fell on the same score. Usman Khwaja’s was the 7th wicket to fall at 198. Pat Cummins’ wicket also fell on the same score while Nathan Lyon was out when the score was 207. The 10th wicket that of Starc fell when the score was 243.

For India, Mohammad Shami took 6/56 in 24 overs registering his career best figure while Jasprit Bumrah took 3/39 in 25.2 overs. Ishant Sharma took one wicket.
