Patna: Patrakarnagar police on Sunday provided security to a leading doctor and owner of chains of  nursing homes Dr A K Singh following a threat letter received by him.

Dr Singh had filed an FIR with Patrakarnagar police station, Patna, alleging he had received a letter in which a demand of Rs 50 lakh was made from him. The  letter, which was sent through registered post, also contained a live cartridge and sender threatened if money was not sent, five bullets would be pumped into his body. The handwritten letter, allegedly written by one Rihit Kumar alias Ghanshyam  Bhartii, claimed he was the managing director of a building construction company.

Indian Medical Association, Bihar Chapter, met here on Sunday evening and demanded security to the doctors and arrrest of the person wo sent threat letter to Dr Singh.
