Sasaram : Rohtas police, on a tip off, conducted raids in areas under Sasaram Muffassil police station and seized explosives in large quantity on February 27 evening. SDPO Alok Ranjan said that police got information that explosives in large quantity had been brought over by some people and so a police team conducted raids near Amra Talab area under Sasaram Muffassil police station in Rohtas district on February 27 evening and seized 37 quintal of Ammonium Nitrate, 10,000 detonators, and 8,000 Gelatin.

Police also seized a truck and a tractor on which these explosives were loaded and arrested a person, a resident of Chand village in Kaimur district. But, he did not give any information. The SDPO said illegal mining is going on in Dehri and Muffassil areas in Rohtas district with impunity and the explosives were to be delivered to Naxalites. He said further investigation is on.
