Huang shocks Srikanth in All England Open, Pranoy in QFs

Patna : World Number 10 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings H S Pranoy, 25, India, defeated World Number 25 Tommy Sugiarto, Indonesia, in the second round of All England Open Badminton Championship 2018 to enter the quarters-finals of the event at Birmingham, UK. Pranoy defeated Sugiarto in straight sets 21-10, 21-19 on March 15, 2018, night. He had defeated World Number 7 Chou Tien Chen, Chinese Taipei, in the first round.

Pranoy will next meet World Number 33 Huang Yuxiang, China. Yuxiang had stunned World Number 3 Kidambi Srikanth, 24, India, in the second round on March 15 night. Yuxiang defeated Srikanth in a three-set encounter 21-11, 15-21, 22-20. Srikanth had won four Super Series titles in 2017.
