Patna: State Home Department on Wednesday returned the proposal of Patna district administration regarding clamping of Crime control Act (CCA) against independent MLA from Mokama Anant Singh. Highly placed sources said that the Home Department has returned the proposal to Patna district administration seeking some clarifications.

It may be mentioned here that Patna district administration had sent a proposal seeking permission to invoke CCA against Anant Singh on September 5 claiming that Singh’s release can create law and order problem.

It may be mentioned here that the state government had on September 20 through Public Prosecutor (PP), Patna, Gajendra Prasad had filed petition in the court of the District and Sessions Judge seeking cancellation of bail of Anant Singh in two cases of extortion lodged with the S K Puri police station in 2015.
