Patna: Heavy rains since September 11 late night led to waterlogging in several parts of the state capital and rise in water level of rivers in other parts of the state. Movement of trains on Gaya-Patna section of Indian railways too have been affected due to floods in Punpun river.
At Patna, areas close to Patna junction, Rajendra Nagar, Dak Bungalow,Lohanipur, Kankarbagh have been waterlogged. Managements of some private schools in Pataliputra Colony,Boring Road, Digha and Ashok Raj Path announced closure of the schools due to rains on Monday. School buses and other vehicles could not reach the destinations to pick the students for schools.
Even in the VIP colonies like Strand Road, Bailey Road,  Hardinge Road,bungalows of the ministers are waterlogged. Leader of opposition Prem Kumar said his bungalow too has become waterlogged and he could not come out of the bungalow as there was knee deep water on the premises. Patna town received 127 mm of rainfall till 5 am, according to Met office.
