Patna : With heavy rain pounding Patna for the last three days, the state capital turned into a floating city on September 28, 2019, throwing normal life out of gear. The incessant rain has caused waterlogging in almost every colony of the city including Kankarbagh, Rajendranagar, Gardanibagh, Patliputra Colony, New Patliputra Colony, Dak Bungalow area, Sri Krishna Puri, Punaichak , and Gosaintola. The waterlogging also caused traffic jam in many parets of the town. Patna is likely to receive more rain in next two days.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had on September 27, 2019, held a high-level meeting in the backdrop of heavy rain reported from many districts in the state. The CM had issued instructions for the evacuation of people from villages in which waters have entered through swollen rivers and their relocation to relief camps. He expressed concern over Disaster Management Principal Secretary Pratyay Amrit’s submission that the catchment areas of Nepal were expected receive up to 300 mm of rain in the next three days and it may affect the entire North Bihar.
