Gopalganj: The hearing on collective fine on eight accused of Khajurbanni liquor tragedy in Gopalganj district was deferred by the court of Gopalganj DM Rahul Kumar as the lawyer of the accused passed away. The next date of hearing has been fixed on October 7. It may be mentioned here that 23 persons were served notices on August 24 under Miscellaneous Excise case number-25/16 after the hooch tragedy in the district. The accused could not place their versions as they did not get the notice. The notices were served on the accused in the jail through jail superintendent by the local police.
