Gopalganj: Hearing on auction of property of the accused of Khajubanni liquor tragedy was held in the court of Gopalganj district magistrate (DM) Rahul Kumar on Tuesday. One of the accused Laljhari Devi could not appear in the court and the court gave another chance to her and fixed the next date of hearing on October 28.

Rest of the 13 accused appeared in the court through their lawyer. The lawyer of  the accused including Chatu Pasi, Ranjay Pasi, Sanjay Pasi, Sanoj Pasi, Rajesh Pasi, Munna Pasi, Grahan Pasi, Indu Devi and Rita Devi, Ved Prakash Tiwary said that his clients are innocent and none of the courts have held them guilty. Special PP Ravi Bhushan Srivastava said that as per the new Excise Laws, the amount of compensation has to be recovered after selling the property of the accused.
