Patna: A division bench of Patna high court comprising Chief Justice Iqbal Ahmad Ansari and Justice Samrendra Pratap Singh while hearing a PIL filed by Vikash Chandra alias Guddu Baba regarding encroachment on district and sub-divisional hospitals as well as Primary health centres (PHCs) across Bihar asked Principal additional advocate general (PAAG) Lalit Kishore to apprise the court of the status of encroachment removal drive on September 13, 2016.

Not satisfied with the report submitted by the state government, the court asked PAAG Lalit Kishore to reply to the court’s questions that while two-third encroachments had been removed, one-third encroachments were yet to be removed.

On the last hearing, the court had directed all the DMs and Civil Surgeons to appear before it but PAAG Lalit Kishore  prayed before the court to exempt them from personal appearance because of flood situation in Bihar. The court exempted them  from personal appearance before it. The PAAAG also informed the court that DM and Civil Surgeon  of 24 districts had filed their affidavits and report regarding encroachment removal and rest of them too had sent their reports and he will submit them before it. But, the court asked him to file action taken report (ATR) on September 13.
