Patna/Gopalganj : Acting chief justice of Patna high court Iqbal Ahmad Ansari has asked the state Home secretary and director general of police (DGP) of Bihar to appear before his court and directed Commissioner, Saran Division, to inquire and report in detail about the Gopalganj incident on Thursday in which ACJM, Gopalganj, Prabhunath Prasad was slapped by a police Sub- inspector on road. The Gopalganj district judge had informed the high court about the incident.
Meanwhile, for the second consecutive day the lawyers and the employees of Gopalganj civil courts remained on strike paralysing the working of the courts to protest the high handedness of police with a judicial officer on cross road. The lawyers staged demonstration and shouted slogans against the police and demanded arrest of all
accused policemen without delay.
It may be recalled that on Thursday the road connecting Gopalganj civil court and collectorate at Mauni crossroad was barricaded and only movement of vehicles of DM , SP and judicial officers were allowed as election of Zila Parishad on collectorate premises was in progress. ACJM Prasad reached the Mauni crossroad on a
bike but stopped by police sub inspector A K Yadav and four policemen. The ACJM made a call to SDPO and the SDPO on mobile phone asked the SI to allow him to go to the court. In the mean time, the SHO of Jadopur police station picked up a verbal spat with ACJM and allegedly slapped him. The ACJM submitted a written complaint to the
CJM of Gopalganj court against SHO of Jadopur police station and four constables. Gopalganj DM Rahul Kumar said that The District Judge, SP and he discussed this matter and action is being initiated .
