Patna : World No 27 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings Han Yue, 19, China, stunned World No 9 and former three-times champion Saina Nehwal, 28, India, in the final to clinch women’s singles title at Syed Modi International Badminton Championship, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 event, at Lucknow, India, on November 25, 2018.

Fourth seed Han Yue comfortably beat Saina, the2nd seed, in straight games 21-18, 21-8 in 34 minutes in the final at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, in a massive upset in the tournament. Han Yue won 42 rallies in the match to 26 by Saina. She also won 9 consecutive points in the match to 6 by Saina. Han now leads Saina 1-0 head to head.
