HAM to quit NDA, to join Grand Alliance

Patna : Former Bihar CM and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi on February 28, 2018, announced that his party will quit the ruling NDA and join the Grand Alliance ( Mahagathbandhan) the same night. Manjhi is the lone member of HAM in Bihar legislative assembly.

Manjhi made the announcement outside his residence here in the presence of RJD leaders Tejashwi Yadav ( Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly), Bhola Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav and others who had called on him on the day. Manjhi had two days back demanded a Rajya Sabha seat to his party in the biennial elections to the Upper House. He had quit the JD(U)  in 2015 after being forced to step down as the chief minister to make way for the return of Nitish Kumar. He later on floated the HAM and joined the NDA.
