Cori Gauff had defeated five-time champion Venus Williams in straight sets in the first round on July 1, 2019. Helep is a former World No 1 player.
Seven-time champion Serena Williams will face Carla Suarez Navarr0, Spain, in the Round of 16 while two-time champion Petra Kvitová, Czech Republic, will face Johanna Konta, UK.
