Hailstorm damages rabi crops in 3 blocks of W Champaran

Bettiah: A severe hailstorm with strong gusts destroyed wheat and other rabi crops under  Sikta, Mainatard and Gaunaha blocks under Narakatiaganj Sub-Ddivision in West Champaran district in North Bihar on March 30, 2018. The rabi crops were to harvested within few days. The Mango and Litchi fruits were also damaged in heavy rain coupled with hailstorm.

DM, West Champaran, Nilesh. Ramchandra Deore, has directed BDOs and COs of the blocks concerned to prepare a crop damage report immediately for submission of the same to the state government to seek compensation for damaged crops.
