Patna : Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, 50, was on August 28, 2017, sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in 2002 rape case by a Special CBI court, Panchkula, Haryana. The court had convicted him in two rape cases on August 25. CBI Judge Jagdeep Singh pronounced two sentences of 10 years rigorous imprisonment in each of the two cases. Both sentences will run consecutively. The court also slapped fine of Rs 15 lakh in each of the two cases on him of which Rs 14 lakh each would go to the two victims who were part of his sect.
