Ara : Government Railway Police (GRP), Ara, arrested a vendor Gopal Pandey alias Nepali of Anaith Pandey Toli under  Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur District, on October 1, 2019, in connection with smuggling of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). Tthe GRP is conducting raids to arrest an RPF personnel in this connection. A named FIR has been lodged against them under the Prohibition & Excise Act. Later, police sent Gopal Pandey to jail.

SHO, GRP, Ara, Shahnawaz Khan said that the GRP had arrested a liquor smuggler Neeraj Kumar of Godhna Road under Nawada police station along with 96 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) on September 20, 2019, at Ara railway station when he was smuggling the IMFL from Uttar Pradesh to Ara.

During interrogation, Neeraj Kumar disclosed that he smuggled the IMFL with the help of a vendor who ran a tea- stall at Ara railway station and an RPF personnel. He said that the vendor and the RPF personnel provide him security coverage in lieu of Rs 500 per trip and helped him store the IMFL to a safe place. After his disclosure, the GRP started conducting raids to arrest them. Meanwhile, the GRP got information that the vendor had come to Ara railway station on October 1. The GRP immediately swung into action and arrested the vendor.
