Ara Court sentences 3 persons to rigorous life imprisonment till death in gang rape case

Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge XV, Ara, Suresh Kumar Singh on October 1, 2019, sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment till death three accused : Seth Mahto, Pankaj Kumar alias Vikas, and Sannu Kumar in a gang rape case. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on each of them.

Public Prosecutor Nageshwar Dubey said that a married woman had gone to the field to attend call of nature at a village under Pawana police station in Bhojpur district on January 27, 2018, evening when three persons: Seth Mahto, Pankaj Kumar alias Vikas, and Sannu Kumar tied her mouth and took her to a secluded place where they gangraped her. A named FIR was lodged by Pawana police station against them on the statement of the woman. After hearing both the parties, the court found them guilty and convicted them on February 2, 2019.
