Goyal lays foundation of 16 schemes for dev. of Ara station

Ara : Railways and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal on January 20, 2018, laid foundation of 16 schemes worth Rs 87.68 crore for development of Ara railway station from Mumbai Sahayadri Guest House through video conferencing.

Speaking on the occasion, Piyush Goyal said that development of the country was not possible without development of eastern states and so the Central government as well as the Bihar government is committed to the development of Bihar. He said Bhojpur district lagged behind on development front due to laxity on part of the representatives for the last 70 years and now Ara railway station will be developed as an Ideal Station under Danapur  division of the East Central Railways (ECR), Hajipur.

Goyal exhorted the officials concerned to emulate the Madhubani railway station and exhibit the deeds of Babu Kuer Singh, the hero of first war of independence in 1857 at the Ara railway station.

Raj Kumar Singh, BJP from Ara and Minister of State (Independent charge), Power and  New and Renewable Energy, said that he had fulfilled the promises he had made during his electioneering and again promised to work for the welfare of the people. He said that the Railway Minister had laid foundation for the Platform No 4, Washingpit, Foot Over Bridge, Coaching Complex Building, Booking counter and vehicle stand on the southern part of the Ara railway station, Electronic Inter-locking system, RCC boundary wall, RPF barrack of 20 beds, Escalator.

After construction of Washingpit, trains for South Bihar will originate from Ara and it would help the people a lot, Singh said. He also said that Ara-Sasaram railline will be electrified and the track will be doubled. Several railway officials including the AGM and DRM, and local MLAs were present on the occasion.
