Ara: The students of government schools in Bhojpur district are having difficult time as teachers are being assigned non-teaching works and not a single non-teaching staff has been appointed by the state government. Bhojpur district has 114 +2 schools but the government has failed to appoint class three and four employees in +2 schools so far. As a result, the teachers or the Headmaster of the schools have to do clerical work in schools all the time and this hampers the teaching work. The teachers have to spend all their time in preparing admission lists and documents related to scholarship, cycle, uniform, Midday Meal which have to be submitted to the government every month
The teachers said the government has not appointed Class three and four employees in schools since 1985. Above all, posts of such employees have not been sanctioned in the schools which were upgraded to +2 schools level though work load has multiplied several times. They said they hav to perform the duty of Headmasters, teachers, clerks and even peons. Besides, the district administration frequently deputes them on election duty or census and other non-teaching works almost the whole year.
District Education Officer (DEO), Bhojpur, Ram Pravesh Singh said that the teachers have to work as Headmaster to peon in +2 schools in the district as no post of Headmaster, clerk or peon has been sanctioned so far in these +2 schools. He said that it is for the government to sanction the post of Headmaster, clerks and peon in these +2 schools and appoint them.
