New Delhi : Minister of State (I/C) for Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar inaugurated a Mega Camp organized for Beedi Workers and Unorganized Workers by Ministry of Labour and Employment at Bareilly, UP, on January 13, 2018.
More than 6,000 workers participated in the camp. House sanction certificates to 70 beneficiaries were given on the spot. Around 3,000 insurance certificates of Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Beema Yojana (PMSBY) were given to the beneficiaries. Around 250 workers, who had already undergone the eye checkup, were provided spectacles, according to a PIB release
Addressing the gathering, Gangwar said the government is committed to welfare of unorganized labour force of the country and these camps create awareness about welfare schemes of the government among the stakeholders. He congratulated the Labour Minister of UP government Swami Prasad Maurya and officials of Labour Department and DGLW for making this camp a huge success.
