Darbhanga : Bihar Governor cum Chancellor on March 12, 2019, presented gold medals to 52 students including 31 girls of 2017-17 and 2016-18 batches of Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) at the 9th convocation of the university held at Dr Nagendra Jha Stadium, Darbhanga.
The Governor also presented certificates to Ph.D degree holders of 2018 batch on the occasion. He also felicitated noted physician Padma Shri Dr C P Thakur and famous Mithila Painting artist Padma Shri Gaudavari Dutta by presenting them with honorary degree of DSc and D.Litt respectively. The Governor also inaugurated the new laboratory building of the university by pressing the remote button.
Lauding the glorious intellectual tradition of Mithilanchal, the Governor urged all the students to take a resolution and make it a part of their lives. He appreciated the university authorities for NAAC Accreditation, regularisation of academic session and Vision 2030.
The Governor said that nationalism was fast becoming the Rashtra Dharma and referred to the befitting reply given to the terrorists after the Pulwama terror attack. The government is committed to eliminate terrorism, he said.
UGC Chairman Prof Dhirendra Pal Singh lauded the university for implementing CBCS and ePathshala. VC, LNMU, Prof Surendra Kumar Singh highlighted the regularisation of academic session in the university and said the 10th convocation of the university will be held in November 2019.
