Patna: General Officer Commanding (Bihar – Jharkhand), Sub-area, Major General S S Manak on Monday made a power point presentation before Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind regarding a proposal for the establishment of Nalanda Defence Forces Preparatory Institute in Bihar to coach defence job aspirants.

GOC Manak, during his presentation, said that defence job aspirants from Bihar can join the three-tier training programme after doing Class X, plus two and graduation. They would be trained by retired army officials. He said that Punjab has such institute and Jharkhand government too is showing interest in establishment of such institute in the state. Major Gen Manak said 30 to 40 acre land and Rs 25 crore would be initially required for the establishment of the institute in Bihar.

The governor appreciated the proposal of Major Gen Manak and stressed on the need of taking initiative on the matter.
