Governor exhorts boys to match performance of girls at exams

Patna : Governor cum Chancellor of State Varsities Satya Pal Malik while addressing the 12th convocation of Nalanda open University (NOU) at Bapu Sabhagar expressed his happiniess over 20 girls securing Gold Medals at the university exams.

Out of the 29 Gold Medallists, 20 were girls which suggests the girls are properly using their talent, the Governor said. He urged the boys to at least match the performace of the girls. He said that the societies which appreciate the importance of education make rapd progress as there is no bigger power than the power of education.

Referring to the decisions taken at a recent meeting of Vice-Chancellors (VCs) at Raj Bhavan, the Governor said that new colleges would not get affiliation if they do not have separate washrooms for girls. He said that all the universities and colleges must have separate washrooms for girls at their buildings. He also stressed on separate Common Rooms for girls at every university headquarters and colleges. The Governor lauded the NOU for maintaining the academic calendar.
