Patna : Bihar Governor cum Chancellor Satya Pal Malik on May 4, 2018, approved the Statute of Combined Entrance Test (CET) for admission to two year BEd course in colleges affiliated to different state varsities. Earlier, the Advisory Committee had recommended the Draft Statute submitted by the 3-Member Committee of Vice-Chancellors (VCs) for approval. With it, the CET has got legal sanction. The Governor Secretariat has sent the copies of the Statute to the VCs of all the universities.
The Statute includes procedure for holding CET-BEd beginning academic session 2018-20 , admission process start, fee structure for the course, reservation policy, and eligibility for appearing at the exam. The dates for registration, application, submission of exam fee, entrance test, counselling, and start of classes would be announced under the Statute. The applications would be accepted online. The results of CET would be announced within 30 days of the exam. Nodal officers at state and university level would be appointed separately.
The CET would carry 120 marks including General English Comprehension (15), General Hindi (15), Logical & Analytical Reasoning ( 25), General Wareness ( 40), and Teaching -Learning Environment in Schools (25). The examinees would write their answers on OMR sheets. There would be no negative marking, according to a Raj Bhavan release.
The exam fee of the CET would be Rs 1,000 for General category, Rs 750 for EBC/OBC/ Women/ Divyangs, and Rs 500 for SC/ST categories. Nalanda Open University (NOU) will conduct the CET.
