Gopalganj: A Bhore police team on January 14 morning seized 33 cartons of liquor from an abandoned Tata Indica vehicle parked at Rakba Vritti Tola. The consignment was on way to Bhore in Gopalganj from Uttar Pradesh.

Locals said that a four-wheeler stopped at Rakba Vritti Tola around 10 pm on January 13 night but the villagers dared not inquire about it in the night. The villagers informed the local SHO Rajiv Kumar Sinha when they saw liquor in the vehicle. A police team led by SI Sanjay Kumar Singh reached the spot and seized the vehicle as well as the liquor inside it. The consignment contained 1,125 bottles of local liquor Bullet in 25 cartons, 114 bottles of IMFL of 180 ml each in five cartons and three cartons of IMFL of 375 ml each.

The SHO said that an FIR had been registered in this connection against unknown persons. He said that police are tracing the whereabouts of the owner of the four-wheeler with the help of registration number of the four-wheeler. The vehicle has the number of Gujarat, he added.
