Gopalganj: Kailashi Devi, an accused in Khajurbanni hooch tragedy, surrendered before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Gopalganj,  Awadh Prasad on Thursday evening. She was later forwarded to judicial custody by the court.

It may be mentioned here that 19 persons had died after consuming spurious liquor on August 15-16 in Gopalganj district. Police arrested six persons after carrying out raids at village Khajurbanni. The arrested persons were sent to judicial custody on August 19. The main accused Nagina Pasi and Lal Babu were later arrested. Six accused including four women are still at large and Gopalganj police are carrying out raids in Siwan and East and West Champaran in Bihar and several places in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh to arrest them.
