Sitamarhi : Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik on April 17, 2018, said at Punauradham in  Sitamarhi district that the Goddess Janki is the embodiment of power and prowess.

“She was humble, submissive but a firm path finder. She was a great narrator. She was the true picture of patience,” said Governor Satya Pal Malik at Punauradham. The Governor inaugurated a nine- day Janki Mahotsav programme at village Punaura on the outskirts of Sitamarhi town on April 17.

He said that our culture can’t be defined without the role of Goddess Sita. King Janak got popularity by having a daughter like Sita. The Governor promised help in the contruction of a massive Janki temple at the place.

The Governor also threw light on the proposed Janki and Ramayan circuit and pleaded for better road connectivity between Sitamarhi and Janakpur Dham (Nepal). He also stressed on direct road and rail connectivity between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi. The Jagat Guru Padma Vibhushan Sri Rambhadracharyaji Maharaj will deliver Ram Katha cultural programme for nine days.

Prabhat Jha and Ram Kumar Sharma, both MPs, Ranju Geeta, MLA, former minister and MLC D C Thakur, former minister Sunil Kumar Pintu, BRA Bihar university VC A N Yadav, PP Arun Kumar Singh, Sitamarhi DM Rajiv Raushan and SP Hari Prasath S were prominent among those addressing the function. Earlier, Neha Raj presented a painting portraying Goddess Sita and Lord Ram’s marriage moment to the Governor.
