Ara : Para- medical and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)  Institutes will be opened on the campus of Ara Sadar Hospital in Bhojpur district at an estimated cost of Rs 21.80 crore. Both the institutes will be constructed beside the ANM training school on  the campus of Ara Sadar Hospital. The work on the project will be started before March 2017 and will be completed within 18 months by  Bihar Medical Service and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (BMSICL).

Bhojpur DM Birendra Prasad Yadav said that government had ordered foestablishment of Para- medical and GNM institutes and the work on the project will start in this fiscal. He said that Ara SDO Navdeep Shukla has been asked to remove encroachment on the Sadar Hospital at the earliest so that the work can be started. He said the GNM will be first of its kind in Bhojpur district and will impart education and training to girl students. He said that two year course is taught at the ANM School while at the GNM, the course will be of three year duration.

The DM said that at the Para – medical institute, the students will be taught and trained as pharmacist, dresser, OT technician, X-ray technician, ANM and other Para-medical courses. The students will be given practical training also. He said that an ANM school with hostel will be constructed at Chilbilia at Piro and at Dulaur in  Jagdishpur at an estimated cost of Rs 1.17 crore.
