Girl’s determination saves her marriage with Bhojpur man

Ara : A girl finally succeeded in marrying her lover at village Sakaddi under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district at a temple with the consent of his family members on May 6, 2018, night.

Sunil Kumar of village Sakaddi under Koelwar police station works at Simdega colliery in Jharkhand where he fell in love with a college student Alka who lived in his neighbour there. They tied nuptial knot at a temple there. When news of their marriage reached Sakaddi, Sunil’s family members called him to Sakaddi on an excuse and did not allow him to return to Simdega. But, Sunil remained in touch with Alka on mobile phone.

When Sunil Kumar did return to Simdega, Alka came to Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district on May 4, 2018, and narrated the entire story to the police officials but as they did not respond, she directly reached the house of Sunil Kumar at Sakaddi and insisted to meet him. Nut, his family members rebuked her and pushed her out of the house after which she sat on dharana in front of their house and also went on fast.

Her determination moved the villagers and they convened meeting of the village panchayat that persuaded the Sunil Kumar’s parents and family members to get the two married. After much persuasion, Alka was once again married with Sunil Kumar at Baba Dineshwar Nath temple on the bank of river Sone on May 6 night.
