Girl refuses to marry drunkard in Buxar

Buxar : A girl refused to marry a man as he had come for marriage with a bottle of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) at village Itadhi under Itadhi police station in Buxar district on May 6, 2017. The bridegroom and the baraatis had to return disappointed.

The baraat of Dabloo, son of Basawan Rai, from village Sayar under Gahmar police station in Gazipur district in Utter Pradesh, had come to Itadhi village. The bride Rani smelt liquor during ‘Jaimal’ and told her mother about it. When the bridegroom came for marriage, the bride refused to marry him saying she could not marry a drunkard. On search, a bottle of IMFL was recovered from the possession of the bridegroom. The villagers and the people in the baraat parties tried their best to persuade the bride but she did not change her stand and the barat had to return.
