Criminal demands Rs 10 lakh from advocate in Buxar

Buxar : A Patna high court advocate Anil Kumar Singh on May 7, 2017,lodged an FIR against one Sanjay Sah with Buxar Town Police Station for demanding  Rs 10 lakh as `rangdari, (extortion money) from him on May 6. No arrest has so far been made in this regard.

SHO, Buxar Town Police Station, Raghubar Dayal said that Sanjay Sah called an advocate of Patna High Court Anil Kumar Singh of village Fatehpur under Itadhi police station in Buxar district on May 6 when he had gone to Buxar Civil Court and demanded Rs 10 lakh as rangdari from him with a threat of dire consequences if he did not yield to his demand. The extortionist asked Singh to bring the money to village Unwas under Dhansoi police station in Buxar district. The SHO said that police were investigating into the matter and added that it could be a fallout of land dispute.
